Boo-berries

My dad made homemade chicken soup for dinner tonight and he gave me some of the chicken and it was really good. But of course I like chicken. Who doesn't? That's not anything to blog about. But then mom had some of the soup and didn't give me any at all even though I sat a whole couch cushion away from her and looked at her real cute and sweet-like. She doesn't like it when I get too close while she's eating and she says I'm in her lap but really I'm not but it makes her angry so I keep my distance. But she still didn't give me any soup. But then! She took her soup bowl in the kitchen and got some little round blue things and rinsed them in the sink and then put them on a plate and came out to the TV room again. I followed her around because I didn't know what she had and I was pretty sure it was food when she started putting it in her mouth and I thought she might feel bad about not giving me soup and might give me some of the blue things. And I was right! She gave me part of a boo-berry (I'm not positive that's what they're called, but it's something like that) and I ate it and she was surprised. Then I was surprised that she was surprised because hey, I'm the cat who eats everything! I hope mom and dad have more of those berries so that I can have some more!

Pumpkin

Remember back when it was really cold and all that white stuff was on the ground and dad was baking a lot of stuff and a lot of that stuff was cookies and one of the kinds of cookies he made was pumpkin cookies and I made mom and dad laugh when I ate them? Remember? Well, mom made some of those pumpkin cookies today and those silly humans didn't remember that I liked the pumpkin cookies, so they joked about feeding me some pumpkin. I was already in the kitchen because mom had used the can opener to open that pumpkin, and I was hoping that it was really a big can of tuna, but it wasn't. So momma gave me some pumpkin on the little plate they keep on the floor in the kitchen for me and I LOVED it. It made momma laugh again! But I think she's stupid because she's the one who didn't remember that I liked those cookies awhile back. Dad gave me some more pumpkin, and I licked and licked and licked my plate to make sure I got it all. I think that they gave some pumpkin to my rat sister, too, and she loved it just like me, but Miji just sniffed it and walked away. She's dumb.

Baked beans

I decided today that my parents are horrible, mean people because they've been keeping a great secret from me. The wonderful goodness of baked beans! Dad started opening a bunch of cans today, but Miji and I knew it wasn't tuna because he was using the loud opener on the counter instead of the handheld one from the drawer. Plus we can smell tuna immediately. So we weren't too excited. But I'm always curious about what momma and dad make in the kitchen so I hung out while dad was opening those cans. Then he gave me some of what was inside and OH GOODNESS! I LOVE baked beans!! It's my new favorite food--besides tuna.

Cherries and salami

But not together, you silly humans! The other day mom was eating some weird round food out of a bag. They didn't really have a scent until she bit into them and then I could kind of smell something but it wasn't like anything I'm used to. Momma said that I wouldn't like cherries, but dad thought I might, so he gave me a little bit. And I loved it! So I got a few more pieces and I was happy.

Then another time recently my parents had some salami. I looooove salami. Salty, meaty goodness! They gave me a few little pieces but said it was too salty to give me too much. Mom had some more on a sandwich for lunch today and I sat patiently waiting on the floor by her feet because she doesn't like it when I get on the couch and stick my nose in her food while she's eating so I figured I'd have a better chance at getting some salami if I was a good boy on the floor and it worked and she gave me a few bites. Yummy!

Soft serve frozen yogurt

My parents went to the place called Cosst-ko tonight. Mom always curses about having to go there because she says it's too big and takes too long to walk around and check out. But she went anyway because dad bribed her with the chance to get a new crock pot (which is a good thing to have because it makes really yummy pork!). So they left and I was sad. But then they came back and mom was actually in a good mood because the store wasn't crowded at all. They had something weird with them that they stuck in the freezer right away, but later dad got his out again and started eating it. So then I knew it was food... it was cold on the outside, so I started licking the cup while he sat on the couch and he said, "Oh, you're so cute!" And then... THEN! He picked up another spoon and scooped a little bit of the frozen goodness into the spoon and offered it to me and I was so excited that I tried to lick it up really quickly but it was really cold, so I wasn't sure how to eat it but I kept licking it anyway until I got some in my mouth but then I got a big chunk of it in my mouth and it was just too cold so I spat it back out on the spoon before I kept eating some more.

Don't let mom see that run-on sentence that I just wrote. She would scold me for that.

Anyway. I finished eating the frozen yogurt, further solidifying that I really do like dessert food.

Donuts

My parents came home last night with donuts. They don't usually eat things like that, but evidently they stopped at a place called Krispy Kreme (which, if you ask me, is a silly way to spell those words, but I'm a cat, so what do I know?) last night on their way home from wherever they were. Mom didn't think I'd eat donut, but when Dad gave me some, I chomped it up really quickly! Didn't they read my last blog about how I like desserts now?

Pumpkin cookies and chicken (not together!)

Dad spent a lot of time in the kitchen the other day. When he was done, he announced that he had made pumpkin cookies. I wasn't sure if this was something I would like, but Mama really seemed to enjoy them, so I figured it was worth begging for.

I have to admit, I'm not usually one for sweets, but there was something especially yummy about this sweet treat! My parents were a little surprised that I liked the cookie pieces they fed me. Now I understand why humans like dessert so much!

Yesterday my parents went out to "run air-runds." I still haven't figured out exactly what that means because sometimes they come home with things and other times they don't, and when they do come home with things, it's never the same kind of things. Yesterday was a particularly good air-rund day because they came home with hot food. Mama's hot food was chicken breast! I sat by her feet and put on my really cute expression, and it worked! She kept feeding me little pieces! It was really yummy!!
